Prep boys’ cross country preview: 5 to watch
COLTON JOHNSEN
School: Sehome
Year: Senior
Outlook: Johnsen earned the second best finish among Sehome runners at the Class 2A State Championships Meet, finishing 15th overall with a time of 16 minutes, 16.77 seconds. He should be poised for another big year.
ROBERTO AGUILERA
School: Ferndale
Year: Senior
Outlook: Aguilera completed a great season last spring with a 19th-place finish during the Class 3A State Championships Meet, completing the run in 15 minutes, 58.15 seconds. He should be plenty motivated after last year’s track and field season.
CADE BROWN
School: Bellingham
Year: Sophomore
Outlook: Brown made a big splash as a freshman last year. He was the only Red Raider to compete in the Class 2A State Championships Meet. After taking 40th with a time of 16 minutes, 38.97 seconds, he should only ascend this fall.
PARKER MORRIS
School: Blaine
Year: Senior
Outlook: Morris established himself as a quality runner last fall, qualifying for the Class 2A State Championships Meet and taking 59th place with a time of 17 minutes, 4.93 seconds. He should be there again this fall.
RILEY ALLSOP
School: Sehome
Year: Senior
Outlook: Allsop, along with Johnsen, formed a tremendous duo for Sehome. Allsop snagged 17th place at state last year with a time of 16 minutes, 20.22 seconds. He could be primed for a top-10 finish this season.
