FAB FIVE
F Jaden Ghoreishi, Mount Spokane, jr. — Poured in a monster double-double with 24 points and 18 rebounds, shooting 50 percent from the field and making two of his three 3-point attempts. Also had two blocked shots and a steal.
F Justus Holt, Lincoln, fr. — Maybe not the flashiest stat line, but Holt was a difference maker on both ends for the Abes, scoring five points with five rebounds, two assists, a steal and four blocked shots.
F Tayten Jones, Bellevue, jr. — How’s this for efficiency? Jones shot 80 percent from the field, made his lone 3-point attempt, and sunk both his free throw attempts en route to 19 points, a rebound and a steal.
W Kaden Powers, Rainier Beach, sr. — Did pretty much anything and everything he wanted against an overmatched Eastside Catholic squad, scoring 22 points on 60 percent shooting from the field and pulling down eight rebounds. Also had five assists and two steals.
G Jaylen Petty, Rainier Beach, sr. — After missing most of Rainier Beach’s regional loss to Tacoma’s Bellarmine Prep, Petty returned to the starting lineup on Wednesday and made his presence felt immediately, scoring 19 points on 50 percent shooting from the field, including making three of his six 3-point attempts. Added three rebounds, four assists and three steals.
QUOTABLE
Lincoln freshman forward Justus Holt on the team’s youth: “We got that dawg in us. We can’t be scared of no one.”
Mount Spokane forward Jaden Ghoreishi on his night: “It’s state. We can’t go home. I really wanted to have my team go on, and I just had to do everything I could.”
