Sloley’s state time leads Red Raiders

Martin Sloley swam a state-qualifying time of 2 minutes, 7.82 seconds in the 200 IM to lead the Bellingham boys’ swimming team to a 109-61 win over Burlington-Edison on Tuesday, Dec. 9, at Fidalgo Pool in Anacortes.

Sloley also won the 100 fly with a 59.02 and was part of the winning 200 medley and 200 free relays.

Shea Mielke also won four races, the 200 free (2:06.61) and 500 free (5:46.18) individually, and the 400 free and 200 medley relays. Eli Ninnemann also qualified for districts with his time in the 100 breaststroke.

Bellingham coach Jeff Anderson was pleased that the team had 38 best times at the meet.
