Squalicum’s Weller advances to 3A district singles championship match

The first day of the Class 3A boys’ district tournament at Arlington High School saw Squalicum’s Colin Weller advance to the singles championship match after taking down two opponents.

The junior squared off against Everett’s Ryan Burt and won handily, 6-2, 6-1. In the next match, Weller had a similar result, this time taking down Ferndale’s Tommy Lyons, 6-2, 6-3.

Weller will play Shorewood Gunnar Thorstenson to determine the district champion Friday.
