Scouting report: Pennsylvania is unbeaten through its first three games, beating Robert Morris (76-75), Central Connecticut State (77-61) and Delaware State (60-54). The Quakers were picked to finish seventh out of eight teams in the Ivy League preseason media poll, ahead of only Cornell. … Penn finished 9-19 overall and 4-10 in Ivy League play last season. They lost leading scorer Tony Hicks, but return their Nos. 2, 3, 4 and 5 scorers from last year’s team. … So far, Penn is led by the 18 points per game of sophomore forward Sam Jones, who also averages 5.0 rebounds. Senior center Darien Nelson-Henry, who prepped at Lake Washington High School and is from Kirkland, had 16 points in 22 minutes in Penn’s recent win at Delaware State. He has scored in double-figures in each of Penn’s three games. … The Quakers shoot 45.3 percent from the field, 68.5 percent from the free-throw line and 28.9 percent from the 3-point stripe as a team.
