Preseason practices don’t begin until tomorrow, but the Huskies are already down a cornerback.
UW coach Chris Petersen confirmed at his Friday press conference that sophomore Naijiel Hale, who appeared in all 14 games last season and made two starts, has been dismissed from the team for disciplinary reasons.
“We wish Naijiel the best,” Petersen said, offering no further details.
Hale, the son of late rapper Nate Dogg, was a 4-star recruit from St. John Bosco High School and made 12 tackles in limited playing time as a freshman. He was expected to compete with a batch of other young defensive backs for the starting cornerback spot opposite Sidney Jones.
