A trio of Bellingham High alums were among five Western Washington University players selected to the All-Great Northwest Athletic Conference Women’s Golf Team, according to a release on Tuesday, April 26.
Sophomore Jenn Paul led the way, as she shared Player of the Year honors with Saint Martin’s senior Jennifer Liedes. Paul leads the GNAC with an average round score of 75.2 and placed in the top 10 in seven of eight tournaments. She took medalist honors at the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout and tied for third at the GNAC Championship. Paul also was selected to the All-Academic team with a 3.44 cumulative GPA as a computer science major.
Junior Audrey Orem joined Paul on the first team, after earning second-team honors as a freshman and sophomore. She is sixth in the league with a 78.1 scoring average.
Junior Brooke Branigan was a second-team selection after she finished eighth in the league with a 78.4 scoring average. Branigan, a Kinesiology, also was an All-Academic selection with a 3.48 GPA.

Senior Kristen Hansen and freshman Stephanie Swell joined the former Red Raiders on the All-GNAC team and helped the Vikings reach the NCAA Division II West Regional for the first time since 2011. WWU will be the eight seed at Brookside Country Club in Stockton, Calif., May 2-4.
