Vikings lose to first-place Alaska

Western mens’ basketball lost 87-84 to GNAC leader Alaska Anchorage on Saturday, Jan. 9, at the Alaska Airlines Center.

Senior guard Kyle Impero earned a game-high 24 points for the Vikings and also has nine rebounds. Junior forward Jeffrey Parker added 21 points.

Behind by as many as 13 points until later in the second half, the Vikings caught up to the Seawolves but could not pull ahead.

The Vikings are now 9-6 overall and 3-3 in conference play.

Western plays against Concordia at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 14, at Whatcom Pavillion.
