WWU women’s basketball loses at Azusa Pacific

Junior guard Taylor Peacocke scored a team-high 15 points to lead four players in double-figures scoring, but the Western Washington women’s basketball team dropped a 91-67 contest to host Azusa Pacific on Friday, Nov. 20, at the West Region Crossover Classic.

The Vikings fall to 1-2 with their second consecutive loss. Azusa Pacific ran its season record to a perfect 4-0.

Peacocke led the Vikings in scoring for the third consecutive game and is averaging 17.0 points per game.

Redshirt freshman Alyssa Evans added a career-high 14 points (2-for-3 3-pointers), and junior center Tia Briggs and junior forward Kiana Gandy each had 12 points.

Azusa Pacific was led by 24 points by senior forward Kelly Hardeman, the PacWest Preseason Player of the Year selection. Five total Cougars reached double digits in scoring. APU scored 38 points off 21 WWU turnovers.
