WWU womens’ soccer team receives No. 1 seed
The Western Washington University womens’ soccer team learned Monday, Nov. 10, that it will be the No. 1 seed into the West Region of the NCAA Division II Tournament and will get to host the first two rounds of the regional.
The Vikings (18-1-1) clinched an NCAA bid by winning the Great Northwest Athletic Conference title on Saturday, Nov. 9, marking the program’s fourth straight trip and the sixth overall.
As the No. 1 seed, WWU receives a first-round bye. Fourth-seeded UC San Diego (15-5-1) will play No. 5 Seattle Pacific at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 12, at Harrington Field on the WWU campus. The winner will then play the Vikings at 1 p.m. Saturday.
The other half of the West regional features No. 2 seed Azusa Pacific (15-2-0), No. 3 seed Sonoma State (12-2-3) and No. 6 seed Point Loma (14-4-0).
