Bellingham’s Alex Ferrier and Emma Lochridge both had their high school careers come to an end during the Class 2A State Championships on Wednesday, May 25, at Columbia Point Golf Course in Richland.
Ferrier (89) finished in a tie for 11th place, and Lochridge (94) placed 35th despite improving on her day one score by five strokes.
Coach Brad McKay said that the girls’ expectations were to do better this year after being in state last year.
“They both came away thinking that could have bettered their score,” McKay said. “But they really grinded it out and battled and played with a ton of experience.”
