WWU to induct four into Athletic Hall of Fame on May 14

Western Washington University will honor four former student-athletes by inducting them into the WWU Athletics Hall of Fame at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 14, in the Concert Hall of the Performing Arts Center.

The Class of 2016 includes basketball forward Harold Doyal, who went on to play 12 seasons professionally overseas; track and field middle distance runner Devin Kemper, who placed second in the 800 meters at nationals in 1999; football wide receiver Chris Nicholl, the first player in school history to have back-to-back 1,000-yard receiving seasons; and volleyball outside hitter Wendy Wefer-Clinton, the Vikings’ top player for the first 25 years of that sport.

All four were named to WWU’s respective All-Century teams in 1999.
