Chris Sale Reveals Exciting Decision Before All-Star Game
Chris Sale will be available to pitch in Tuesday night's MLB All-Star Game, ending any uncertainty surrounding his status after his most recent outing. The Atlanta Braves ace confirmed the news to reporter Chad Bishop before the Midsummer Classic in Philadelphia.
The 37-year-old last pitched on July 10 against the St. Louis Cardinals, throwing three innings before a lengthy rain delay ended his night. Despite the abbreviated appearance, Sale said he is ready if National League manager Torey Lovullo calls on him.
Sale earned his 10th career All-Star selection after another dominant first half. He entered the break with a 9-6 record, a 2.20 ERA and 117 strikeouts across 98 innings, continuing to anchor Atlanta's rotation.

Sale's latest All-Star nod places him among an exclusive group of starting pitchers with at least 10 career selections. He became just the eighth starter in MLB history to reach the milestone, joining several Hall of Fame legends.
His availability also gives the National League another proven late-game option. While All-Star pitchers often work just one inning, Sale's experience and strong first half make him one of the league's most reliable arms.
The Braves sent five players to this year's All-Star Game, tying for the most representatives in the National League. Sale headlines that group after once again establishing himself among baseball's top starting pitchers.
With his status now confirmed, the focus shifts to whether Lovullo will turn to the veteran left-hander during the game. If called upon, Sale will have another opportunity to add to an already remarkable All-Star résumé.
