Jerry Jones Booed During World Cup Game in Dallas on Tuesday

Jerry Jones' AT&T Stadium is playing host to a World Cup semifinal game on Tuesday afternoon. Jones' stadium, referred to by FIFA as Dallas Stadium, is playing host to the mammoth contest between Spain and France.

The longtime owner of the Dallas Cowboys, who has gotten close to FIFA leadership throughout this World Cup process, gave up his personal suite inside of his $1 billion stadium to members of the soccer federation, as it's the best seat in the house.

Jones, who has owned the Dallas Cowboys since 1989, still made an appearance at Tuesday's game, though, sitting in a different seat. However, when the owner of the Dallas Cowboys was shown on the video board, he was booed by some people in the crowd.

Jones' Cowboys haven't experienced much postseason success over the past 25 years or so, but it's still surprising to see him booed inside of his own stadium.

Of course, the stadium likely wasn't packed with Dallas Cowboys fans on Tuesday, as thousands of fans from around the country - and the globe - have traveled to Texas for today's game.

NFL fans react to Jerry Jones getting booed

"Why wouldn't he be jeered? He's a terrible general manager with a god complex. Cowboys fans know he's the reason Dallas has been mediocre at best for the past 30 years," one fan wrote.

"Jerry Jones' face goes up on the screen….and a loud ring of boos emanates across AT&T Stadium. For a man who built 'Jerryworld,' he isn't exactly viewed as an icon in these parts…" one fan added.

"Jerry Jones should bring all the Cowboys in to watch today just to see what a Semifinal is like," another fan added.

Wednesday's World Cup semifinal, meanwhile, will be held at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, between England and Argentina.

The final is set for Sunday in New Jersey.
