Is Michael Olise Joining Real Madrid? Exploring the Truth Behind the Latest Transfer Rumors
Michael Olise has been one of France's key players at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The winger leads the tournament with five assists and has played an important role in Les Bleus' run to the semifinals.
The 24-year-old is also coming off another impressive season with Bayern Munich, helping the club win the Bundesliga and reach the UEFA Champions League semifinals. After two successful seasons in Germany, Olise has established himself as one of Europe's top wingers.
With his performances for both club and country, it's no surprise that Olise has been linked with some of Europe's biggest clubs, with Real Madrid emerging as the most talked-about destination.
Is Michael Olise Going to Real Madrid?
Speculation began after reports claimed Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez had identified Olise as a top transfer target and viewed him as the club's next Galáctico. Rumors even suggested a $172 million (€150 million) bid was part of his presidential re-election campaign.
Although Pérez publicly denied that Olise was his mystery transfer target, reports later claimed he told Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer at an event, "You will have to sell Olise to me."
According to Fabrizio Romano, however, Real Madrid have not made a formal move for the France international because Bayern Munich's position remains unchanged and that they have no intention of selling him.
Reports also suggest that Olise has asked Bayern Munich for a meeting to discuss his future, which only fueled further speculation. Despite that, Real Madrid has shown respect for Bayern's stance but are prepared to move quickly if the situation cchanges.
On June 20, Real Madrid released an official statement insisting they had "not held any direct or indirect contact with the player, his representatives, or anyone in his circle."
Although Bayern Munich have made it clear they do not want to sell one of their most valuable players, Olise remains one of Real Madrid's top transfer targets and new manager José Mourinho's dream signing this summer.
