Analysis:
Playing in the NFC South, the Saints have an easier road to the playoffs than most teams. Last year, the 8-9 Carolina Panthers won the division and clinched the No. 4 seed in the NFC.
New Orleans was two wins shy of Carolina's won total, and if things fall in line, a potential nine- or 10-win season could clinch the Saints a division title in 2026.
Tyler Shough (2,384 yards, 10 touchdowns, six interceptions) seemingly showed enough as a rookie to convince the Saints he deserved at least one more season to prove himself.
New Orleans also gave Shough some more help in adding first-round rookie Jordyn Tyson, fourth-round rookie Bryce Lance, and sixth-round rookie Barion Brown to beef up the WR corps, plus signing tight end Noah Fant and adding three-time 1,000-yard rusher Travis Etienne.
The Saints had the ninth-ranked defense from a year ago, so if the team does show signs of improvement next season, it'll be because the offense finally caught up. Despite New Orleans' offseason moves, the team is likely looking at a five- or six-win season.
