3 Giants Players Have Torn Their Achilles During Spring Workouts
The New York Giants appear to have suffered another season-ending injury ahead of the 2026 season.
Wide receiver Gunner Olszewski went down Friday during organized team activities with a non-contact injury that the team fears is a torn Achilles tendon. The 29-year-old is undergoing further tests to determine the extent of the injury.
The veteran receiver went down and immediately grabbed at his right leg late in practice. According to ESPN, he was slamming his fist in disgust as he was being carted off.
“That was a non-contact change in direction kind of a deal on the grass there,” coach John Harbaugh said. “So that was disappointing.”

Olszewsi’s is just the latest devastating injury for the Giants this offseason. Earlier this month defensive lineman Roy Robertson-Harris, who was expected to overtake the starting role after the team traded Dexter Lawrence to the Cincinnati Bengals.
Olszewski played in 16 games last season with one start, racking up eight receptions for 102 yards in that lone Week 18 start against the Dallas Cowboys.
The Giants re-signed Olszewski to a one-year deal this offseason. He was expected to serve as a returner and depth at wide receiver, which the Giants are currently thin at with Malik Nabers and Darius Slayton rehabbing this offseason.
Olszewski’s primary role throughout his career and time with the Giants has been as a returner. He had 24 punt returns for 216 yards last season. He had 23 returns for 273 yards with a touchdown for the Giants in 2023.
