Mets Provide Update on Francisco Lindor Injury Progress
New York Mets star shortstop Francisco Lindor has not played in over a month. He has been out since April 23 with a left calf strain. Since he was first placed on the 10-day injured list, he has been making steady progress in hopes of returning to help the Mets turn their season around.
New York currently sits in last place in the National League East with a 23-33 record, which is just 3.5 games ahead of the Colorado Rockies for the worst record in Major League Baseball. This includes the past two weeks, where they have really struggled. New York has won just two of its past nine games with Lindor on the shelf.
On Friday, Mets president of baseball operations David Stearns spoke about Lindor's recovery progress after having missed over a month already.
"Francisco Lindor continues to make progress in his recovery from a calf strain, but David Stearns said the Mets are 'still unsure of an exact timeline,'" ESPN reporter Jorge Castillo said. "Lindor has been out since April 23."

Before heading to the injured list, Lindor played 24 games during the 2026 season. In those appearances, he put up a slash line of .226/.314/.355 with an OPS of .669, two home runs and five RBIs, as he struggled to start the year along with the rest of New York.
The fact that there is still no exact timetable for Lindor's return to the field is disappointing news for Mets fans who are hoping to see their star shortstop back sooner rather than later.
The Mets begin another series without Lindor on Friday, as they take on the Miami Marlins at Citi Field. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. ET.
