Bells rally for 4-2 win over Cowlitz
Two of the Bells’ newly selected All-Stars made a big impact during Bellingham’s 4-2 come-from-behind West Coast League win over Cowlitz on Tuesday, July 14, at Cowlitz.
Aaron Stroosma, who recently received his All-Star nod, went 2 for 4 and recorded a two-out, two-RBI single that gave the Bells a 3-2 lead in the top of the eighth.
Catcher Bronson Larsen, another All-Star, came round to score in the ninth following a double to push Bellingham’s lead to 4-2. Starter Andrew Summerville went six innings, giving up five hits and one earned run. Brice Longanecker earned the win in relief.
Cowlitz starter Callahan Neely yielded only two hits and no runs through seven innings, but Bears reliever Jake Hawken gave up three earned runs on two hits and was pulled before recording an out in the eighth.
Bellingham (21-11) faces Cowlitz next, looking to win the three-game series with first pitch at 6:35 p.m. Wednesday, July 15.
