Post 7 ends regular season with doubleheader sweep
The American Legion Post 7 baseball club finished its regular season with a doublheader sweep of the ESC Tigers on Tuesday, July 14, at Brannon Field in Auburn.
Post 7 beat the Tigers 5-4 in the first game and followed that with a 4-0 win during the second game.
“We already had the No. 2 seed (in league standings), so we were getting a lot of players some time,” coach Steve Slesk said in a phone interview. “We didn’t exactly swing it as good as we have been.”
Tanner Tutterrow earned a win on the mound, and Dalton Ohlighsclager got a spot start in game 2 and made the most out of the oppurtunity, throwing six innings of scoreless ball.
Kyle Sandstrom and Brady Shearer had two hits in the 5-4 win, and Jake Albert had two hits during the shutout victory.
Next for Post 7 in regional play, starting at 4 p.m. Saturday, July 18, at Lower Columbia Coummunity College.
