Negative campaigning
The common thread explaining the historically inept Congress is the inability of both parties to “get along.”
The latest example is the GOP strategy to delay finding a supreme court justice until after the elections. I believe the GOP has no interest in finding the best candidate.
I suggest voters support a candidate that throws the “least amount of mud” and makes the fewest controversial comments. This gives hope for that candidate to work with both parties. I can easily eliminate four or five candidates. I will vote for a candidate that avoids negative remarks and sticks with the issues.
