It has come to my attention that some of our electorate has been sorely misinformed about certain issues for whatever reason.
Here are some facts I believe:
By law, taxpayer money cannot be used to fund abortion; undocumented workers cannot receive welfare; the government did not cause the housing crisis; there are no FEMA camps; Darwin’s theory of evolution does not state that man is descendant from apes, rather they share a common ancestor MILLIONS of years ago.
Also, Obamacare is not a government takeover of health care. Private insurance companies provide health care while doing their best to get around the Affordable Care Act’s consumer protections and still make a nice profit. Obama is not a Muslim, Obama was born in Hawaii. Carbon dioxide has built up in the atmosphere as a result of burning fossil fuels and is causing the earth’s climate to change. Vaccines do not cause autism, even if multiple vaccines have been given at the same time. Guns in your house do not make you or your family safer. Major tax cuts to the top percentage of wealth holders does not bring prosperity to all. The federal deficit for the last fiscal year was the smallest in eight years according to CNN Money.
If some of the mistaken beliefs were in fact true, one would understandably be upset.
One more fact: A demagogue is a political leader who seeks support by appealing to popular desires, fear, and prejudices rather than by using rational argument.
