Lights conversion

Seeing the street lights being converted to LED bulbs around our city made me glad I live in a community that is progressive and wants to conserve energy, however when the vintage-style street lamp in front of my house was converted from its soft, safe light to this shocking blue white, I’m not so pleased. The light invades the home’s nighttime tranquility and is an insult to the style of the street lamp. For traffic streets, the fixtures have caps that divert the light downward, but the street lamps are producing glare in all direction. I do not feel these are appropriate for the neighborhood setting, never mind the affect it may have for sleep quality for the residents whose windows are nearby.
