My own children and grandchild live in another state, but I consider that Meridian students are “my” children in a wider sense. How children are educated matters a great deal to me. I’ve visited the district schools to see first-hand the facilities and how the academic, athletic, job skills, technology, fine arts and other aspects of education are valued and taught to the students here. The results are impressive as the next generation acquires a solid foundation.
I encourage other retirees living in the Meridian School District to join me in voting yes for the levy on the Feb. 9 ballot. Support of education benefits children and strengthens the entire community.
