Voting yes on levy to support schools

As a member of the Meridian School Board and a volunteer in Meridian it is amazing to see how bright and hard-working our students are. From elementary school kids learning to read and write for the first time to middle schoolers competing in math contests to high school students learning to weld, our students are working hard every day to build their knowledge and skills and to improve the future of our community.

Now, it is our turn to show the students that we have their backs and are willing to support them. We can do so by voting “yes” on the maintenance and operations levy that we will be voting for on (or preferably before) Feb. 9. This levy is a replacement for a property tax that we have already been paying that is set to expire soon. The levy provides nearly one quarter of the district’s operating budget, including funding for sports, clubs and many of the district’s academic programs. Please join me in voting “yes” on this levy so that we can continue to support our local school district.
