Unhappy Oregon protest allowed to continue
I’m completely fed up with the protesters in Oregon who have taken over a whole wildlife preserve because they feel that locals could put it to better use as cattle range. Putting aside the environmental damage that can do, that land is held in trust for the Paiute Indian Tribe and they have absolutely no say about what is done with it.
This group of armed individuals have shut down all access to the site.
I wonder how the government would respond if these pistol packin’ protesters were say, non-white, wearing turbans, flashy dressers in wild flowing colors, students, etc. I think we might be seeing an entirely different scenario.
A gun battle is not the answer but these guys strutting around, armed to the teeth just because they want to control federal lands so they can graze cattle (and ignoring any environmental studies) isn’t right either. Surely the feds can haul out their bag of tricks and send these men home. They’ve had their 15 minutes of fame.
