Unhappy with change in culture
On Dec. 18 my wife and I attended the “winter program” at Irene Reither elementary school on Hanagan Road. The 145-year-old federal holiday we celebrate this time of year is called Christmas. Christmas is part of the culture that Irene Reather, my family and countless other families back to the time of President Ulysses S. Grant grew up with and celebrate.
I believe the culture (for some time now) is being erased and replaced by another culture that doesn’t hold Christ or Christmas with any esteem. Someone is making this decision to take Christ out of Christmas. Someone directed their religion (of no religion) is the way it is going to be now and the rest of us you can just live with it.
If someone is troubled by this federal holiday that is Christmas, don’t bother to participate, that has been and continues to be one of your freedoms as an American. I believe someone is destroying the culture and that is not acceptable. Using our children in this war on the culture (I hope) will no longer be tolerated in America, for there is an American culture and it is worth fighting for.
