Backs Ayers for knowledge of county
Bruce Ayers is running for County Council, District 1. At a recent meeting, I heard something interesting. His opponent began using statistics regarding Whatcom land use, saying 76 percent of our county land base is in state, federal and forestry use. Of the remaining 24 percent, one-half is zoned for forestry.
These statistics are from Mr. Ayers’ speech at the City Club presentation. Then Satpal Sidhu quoted these same numbers at the next political forum, the League of Women Voters. I wish to compliment Satpal on finally using some statistics in his speeches to back up what I find to be his general platitudes, but he should do his own research and not borrow Bruce Ayers’ content. It makes Mr. Ayers look like the right person for the job.
