Concerned about stance on terminal
My opinion is that Port of Bellingham commissioner candidate Gary Jensen cannot be trusted to take care of the health and well-being of our region with integrity. I am voting for for Bobby Briscoe to allow him the chance to prove he can.
I think Jensen cares about business, but that he doesn’t know how to care about humans, other life forms, lands, waters and our air before that. Jensen has mentioned it is important to clean up the port, but I see that he goes at everything from a money-first not planet-first perspective. Jensen has been involved in promoting the Gateway Pacific coal terminal since 2011, which if permitted, I believe will be another big toxic mess to be cleaned up. And to top it off, Jensen has recently tried to duck his responsibility in advocating for Gateway Pacific for years, by saying now that he does not support the burning of coal. To me it’s a double whamie of poor judgment and practices I urge you to say a big no to. Visit coalstop.com for more details.
