Unhappy with cyclists who don’t follow rules
I just finished reading the “Letters to the Editor” by two people who believe that the cars are the villains in the road rage in Bellingham. All I can say is this is such a bunch of malarkey. I can’t even count how many times I have been at a light that changes from red to green, and I wait a few seconds because more than 50 percent of the time a bicyclist will come blasting through the red light and almost get hit. Because the bicyclist was the nincompoop not obeying the rules, but expecting all the rights of the road. If I would have hit him I would be vilified and probably blamed for the accident. If you want the rights of the road, you need to obey the rules also. It may be true that a few bad apples ruin it for the majority, and if that is the case, I must have come across more than my share of bad apples because more than 50 percent of the bicyclists I see in my daily commute from my home in Marysville to my job in Bellingham fail to obey the traffic rules.
