Unhappy with replacement lights

I am concerned to hear about the super bright street lights being considered in some parts of Bellingham. We do need street lights but we don’t need the whole town to be lit up light a soccer field at night. It seems to me this should be an issue where citizens should have a say before public money is spent. Right now street crime, at least in Fairhaven, has been reported to be lower than usual. Certainly we need street lights, but we have effective ones already. I believe this is a misuse of public funding, which I hope will be reconsidered.
