Asks drivers to slow for pedestrians
While all the points about how great it is to live in Bellingham are accurate in the story Aug. 10, I give our pedestrian friendliness a C-minus. This is still the land where the car is king. It is becoming riskier to be a pedestrian with bikes and boarders zooming by on the sidewalks. Many drivers do not honor the crossing stations. Please drivers, slow down, get off your phones, etc.
Otherwise, yes, it is beautiful here. There are lots of fun cultural events, awesome library system, and many great people. We could use a second-run movie theater thought, like the mall briefly tried a couple of years ago.
