Concerned about union grievance

I was shocked to read a recent Bellingham Herald the article about the local paramedic who cannot separate his social life from his professional life with Bellingham Fire Department, which is protecting local citizens’ lives and property.

Because of the grievances he filed through his local firefighters’ union, they will now go to battle with the city. I believe any other local person or employee would not stand a chance under exact circumstances.

As has happened in the past with a few government employees under the same circumstances, this will more than likely get pasted over or swept under the rug. This situation is not new, and has been ongoing for some time, putting all citizens at risk.

I have a very difficult time believing this is the best we can come up with.
