I would like to voice my support for Manuel Reta, a long-time Ferndale business owner who is running for mayor.
I’ve known Manuel for 10 years through community work in support of both business and farms, and I have to say he is an effective businessman. In the role of mayor, Manuel is a strong leader who will pull our community together while building and supporting business strength in the community. Manuel understands and lives the importance of both family and community. He will remind us to enjoy our families, a priority in his life. Manuel works hard, cares about Ferndale and Whatcom County, and is always looking for ways to contribute.
Manuel worked with my father, Ernie Anderson, at Intalco, and my father spoke highly of him. Not only has he served on multiple boards and associations, Manuel is a recipient of other awards including the Top 10 Whatcom County Most Giving Award of 2009 and the Whatcom County Peacebuilder/ Cross Cultural Award of 2009 and The Purple Heart for his service to our country. In the past two years Manuel has been responsible for bringing Sen. Murray and her staff to community meetings in Ferndale to listen to local citizens.
His contribution will be enormous for Ferndale, and I ask you to support him as our next mayor.
