Suggests feds help build jail
Followed the discourse on the funding for the new jail and after reading the recent Herald letter stressing the urgent need for better jail conditions to meet the inmate population inflated by mental illness, border and reservation cases. I may be simple, but I wonder why the federal government will not be required to pay for proportionate construction costs based on border arrests and its trust responsibility to the native nations.
