On this July 4th I am reminded of how free we are to make the choice of who we elect to office. This freedom to make the choice, to vote for our choice is just as important today as it was in our past history. It is in fact a sacred honor won by our history, a history with over 200 years of challenges, battles, and the lives of thousands of men and women.
If Ferndale is to continue to prosper as a city, and if we are to continue to live in a city with good schools, a wonderful library, a police department that focuses on keeping us safe, a hard working city council, an infrastructure that supports growth, and a culture that honors family, we must meet the challenge in the months ahead to consider carefully and to elect a mayor who has a broad vision for our city, a solid financial understanding, and a noble purpose to work hard for Ferndale.
Considering carefully the mayoral candidates before us, Cathy Watson’s background, her community dedication, coupled with her outstanding educational accomplishments has my full support. I give my vote to Cathy Watson for the next mayor of Ferndale.
