Letters to the Editor

Here’s how to submit a letter to the editor for The Bellingham Herald

Letters to the editor appear in The Bellingham Herald print and eEditions, usually on Sundays.

We encourage signed commentary from Whatcom County residents about local topics. Letters must be factually accurate and not contain offensive language or personal attacks.

Letters must be no longer than 300 words per letter and should be exclusive to The Herald. No more than one letter a month per author will be considered for publication.

Send your letter in the body of an email to letters@bellinghamherald.com. We are often unable to use letters sent as attachments.

Be sure to include your name and city of residence with your letter.

You can also use the online form.

Election letters must be received 18 days before any election to be considered for publication.

Letters may be edited and all submissions become the property of The Bellingham Herald.
