Air quality alert active for Eastern Washington Saturday

An air quality alert was reported by the NWS Spokane WA on Friday at 10:13 a.m. in effect until Saturday at 2 p.m. The alert is for Adams, Lincoln, Spokane and Whitman counties.

"An Air Quality Alert has been issued by the following agencies: Washington Department of Ecology Spokane Regional Clean Air Agency An Air Quality Alert has been issued for Adams, Lincoln, Spokane, and Whitman counties, effective immediately through Sunday July 19th at 9 a.m., due to current and expected wildfire smoke from regional wildfires. Particulate matter (PM2.5) levels currently range from Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups to Hazardous and are expected to remain elevated. When air quality is Unhealthy, everyone should reduce exposure. Limit time outside, avoid strenuous outdoor activity, and follow tips for cleaner indoor air," says the NWS.

This alert is in effect until Saturday at 2 p.m.
