Eastern Washington under a fire weather watch Tuesday - high fire danger

On Sunday at 10:29 a.m. the NWS Spokane WA issued a fire weather watch valid for Tuesday between 11 a.m. and 10 p.m. The watch is for Okanogan Valley, Central Washington Cascade Foothills, Waterville Plateau and Western Columbia Basin.
"The National Weather Service in Spokane has issued a Fire Weather Watch for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from Tuesday morning through Tuesday evening. Affected Area: Okanogan Valley (Zone 703), Foothills of Central Washington Cascades (Zone 705), Waterville Plateau (Zone 706) and Western Columbia Basin (Zone 707). Winds: South 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. Winds will shift to the west late Tuesday afternoon and evening. Relative Humidities: 9 to 18%. Impacts: Rapid fire spread is likely with any new or ongoing fires," says the NWS.
This watch is in effect until Tuesday at 10 p.m.
According to the NWS, a fire weather watch means that critical fire weather conditions are possible. Listen for later forecasts and possible red flag warnings.
