“Air quality will be moderate this holiday weekend in Island, San Juan, Skagit, and Whatcom counties due to regional wildfire smoke. Upper-level haze will be visible at times. No significant surface air impacts are expected,” the agency said on its social media.

Moderate air quality will mostly affect people who are sensitive to smoke. That includes people with chronic heart or respiratory conditions such as asthma or those who have respiratory illnesses such as a cold or flu.
