Thanksgiving might not be the most outdoor-centric holiday, but the weather can still affect everything from travel plans to Thanksgiving Day pickup football.

Washington is coming off of surviving a week of fairly severe weather, but luckily, the weather around Thanksgiving is expected to be a bit more tame. Here’s what the forecast looks like in Bellingham for Thursday, Nov. 28.

Thanksgiving Day weather in Bellingham

According to the National Weather Service’s forecast, Thursday will see a 30% chance of rain showers on Thanksgiving in Bellingham. Temperatures are expected to be in the high 30s and low 40s in the morning, before approaching the day’s high of 47 degrees. At night, NWS expects temperatures to drop to the low 40s as they approach the night’s low of 38.

The University of Washington Department of Atmospheric Sciences forecast predicts cloudy weather Thursday in western Whatcom County. The forecast predicts a chance of showers and a high in the mid 40s, before temperatures drop Thursday night to the mid to high 30s.

Black Friday & Thanksgiving weekend weather

The rest of Thanksgiving weekend is expected to see similar weather, according to forecasts.

On Friday, Nov. 29, NWS predicts a chance of rain showers throughout the day with a high of 47 degrees and a low of 36 degrees. UW’s forecast looks almost identical, with highs in the mid 40s and lows in the mid 30s, clouds all day and a chance of rain showers.

Over the weekend on Saturday, Nov. 30 and Sunday, Dec. 1, NWS says there will be a slight chance of rain showers, with highs in the mid to high 40s and lows in the mid 30s. NWS expects a slight chance of snow showers as well, starting Saturday night and carrying over into Sunday.
