Temperatures could be chilly enough this week to produce a few snow showers for the morning commute, according to forecasts from the National Weather Service in Seattle.

A mix of rain and snow is possible as the mercury drops into the low 30s starting Monday morning, meteorologist Harrison Rademacher told The Bellingham Herald.

“We’re going to be getting some cool air coming in. If it gets cold enough, we might be thinking about a few flakes,” Rademacher said in a phone call.

According to the current forecast, daytime temperatures next week will be in the 40s, with overnight lows in the low to mid-30s.

“It’s definitely November. You can’t rule out cool air,” Rademacher said.

It won’t be the season’s first snow, however. Sudden Valley residents had a brief dusting on Monday night, and snow covered the hills surrounding Lake Whatcom.
