Chance of snow or ‘wintry mix’ for Bellingham, lowland Whatcom. Here’s when to expect it
Expect a slight chance of snow or a “wintry mix” of rain and snow in Bellingham and lowland Whatcom County as some light moisture passes Western Washington just as the weekend cold snap starts to ease.
Both the National Weather Service in Seattle and Environment Canada are predicting a chance of flurries or a combination of rain and snow on Tuesday, Jan. 31, as a warm front moves through and gradually raises temperatures
Flurries or light rain is most likely from Skagit County northward near the U.S.-Canada border, said meteorologist Trent Davis in the online forecast discussion.
Little to no accumulation was expected.
“The influx of Pacific air will continue to nudge both day and nighttime temperatures upward closer to seasonal norms” Davis said.
Temperatures closer to 50 degrees are expected by Wednesday, Feb. 1, along with a series of typical winter storms that will bring rain and snow in the mountains for the next several days, according to the forecast.
