UPDATE: Guide Meridian cleared after hours-long backup Monday morning

UPDATE: WSDOT has reported the incident has been cleared, and all lanes are open as of 9:52 a.m. The original story is below.

Northbound lanes of Guide Meridian (State Route 539) are blocked north of Kellogg Road following an incident there Monday morning, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

The incident was first reported at 7:39 a.m. on Monday, April 27, and was originally blocking both northbound and southbound lanes. The southbound lane was cleared at 8:31 a.m., but the northbound lane remained closed later Monday morning, according to WSDOT.

There is no estimate for when the road will reopen and drivers are encouraged to take alternate routes.

Washington State Patrol and fire assistance is on scene. No injuries have been reported.
