Update: Northbound I-5 traffic resumes in Bellingham following collision
UPDATE: WSDOT announced that the scene had cleared and traffic resumed around 2:30 p.m. The original article follows below.
A northbound lane of Interstate 5 in Bellingham is blocked following an afternoon collision Friday afternoon north of E. Sunset Drive.
Medical aid, fire assistance, incident response teams and the Washington State Patrol are on scene, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation. The collision was reported on social media by WSDOT at 1:36 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13.
The cause of the collision has not been announced, and traffic is backed up for more than 3 miles.
