Guardrail work to force I-5 lane closures in both directions through Bellingham

Interstate 5 through Bellingham will be reduced to a single lane three straight days next week. Washington State Department of Transportation maintenance crews will repair guardrail during the daytime lane reductions.

What to expect

  • The right lane of northbound I-5 to close from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2 south of the Old Fairhaven Parkway exit (mileposts 248-249).
  • The right lane of southbound I-5 to close from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3 north of North Lake Samish exit (mileposts 248-247).
  • The right lane of southbound I-5 to close from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4 near the Alger exit (milepost 240).
