UPDATE: The crash scene was cleared, and traffic resumed at full pace around 5:30 p.m., according to WSDOT. The original article follows below.

An incident on southbound Interstate 5 is blocking the right lane of traffic in Bellingham, just north of Lakeway Drive.

Traffic is backed up 5 miles, according to the Washington Department of Transportation’s real-time travel map. No estimate for when the road will be cleared has been announced.

A crash was reported around 3:48 p.m., according to the PulsePoint app, which also shows an ambulance on scene. No injuries have been reported.
