Expect lane closures, delays along Ferndale Terrace throughout the week
Traffic revisions will be in place along Ferndale Terrace on Monday, Dec. 8 through Friday, Dec. 12 for street paving.
Weather permitting, the paving will be done in two phases, according to a news release from the city of Ferndale.
The first phase begins at the Vista Drive roundabout and will require closure of the western half of the roundabout. Traffic will be redirected by flaggers, according to the city.
The roundabout will be open for the project’s second phase, although Ferndale Terrace will be restricted to a single lane. The Vista Drive roundabout will provide westbound access to Ferndale Terrace. Paving will start at the roundabout and continue toward Hendrickson Avenue. When this is completed, the lanes will switch, and contractors will pave the other half of the road, again starting at the roundabout.
As a result of the lane closure, all intersections with Ferndale Terrace also will be closed, including the intersections with Hawthorne Street, Birch Drive, Legoe Avenue, Seamount Drive and Hendrickson Avenue.
The street paving is a part of the greater Ferndale Terrace Improvement Project.
