Update: Full traffic resumes after crash blocks northbound I-5 near Bow
A collision on northbound Interstate 5 just north of the Bow Hill Road had traffic backed up for several miles Thursday morning. Traffic resumed at normal pace once all lanes were cleared around 11:15 a.m., according to the Washington Department of Transportation.
WSDOT originally stated the blockage was due at least in part to fallen trees on the freeway when it first reported the incident around 9:23 a.m., but department officials walked that back later in the day.
The collision occurred north of the Bow Hill Road exit (milepost 239) in Skagit County.
