A two-week closure is planned for the Cascade River Road/Marblemount bridge as part of a rehabilitation project.

The Skagit County Public Works Department will close the bridge near milepost 106 of State Route 20 — North Cascades Highway — beginning Tuesday, Sept. 2, according to a news release from the Washington Department of Transportation.

No traffic will be allowed over the bridge from noon Sept. 2 to 7 p.m. Sept. 16.

WSDOT suggests drivers take a detour using SR 20, SR 530 and Rockport Cascade Road for both directions.

WSDOT asks people traveling in the area to do their part to keep the road crew safe, by driving slowly and removing distractions.
